I wouldn’t say marketing music is any harder than marketing any other product. Certainly it’s not inherently difficult, however I would agree that many artists shy away from it. Maybe they think it’s evil or something, or maybe it’s simply an unwillingness to engage the process. Whatever it might be, if we want to get our work under the noses of the right people we need to find a way to shout about it.
